海角社区 invites the community to experience its 19th Annual Student Art Exhibition on display now through April 30 at the North Hall Gallery, located at 16 E. High Street in Pottstown.
The exhibition opened on April 15 with a reception and awards ceremony. The showcase
features 50 student-submitted works across a variety of media, including paintings,
pencil sketches and more.
鈥淭he exhibit highlights our students鈥 creativity, their growth, and the hard work they鈥檝e put into their art,鈥 said Patrick Rodgers, Manager of the Montco Cultural Center. 鈥淭here鈥檚 something here that will impress and inspire every visitor.鈥
This year鈥檚 juror was Brenda Macon, a professional artist from the Blue Bell area. She selected the first, second and third place winners, as well as the Best in Show awards.
Best in Drawing:
- First place: Sink by Katelyn Cutler
- Second place: Coins by Seth Somogyi
- Third place: Look at My Nissan by Mariyah Madl
Best in Painting:
- First place: Reflection by Jenny Zheng
- Second place: Green Fabric with Brown Jug by Katelyn Cutler
The Bella Shen & Lucie S. Lee Best in Show Award, co-sponsored by the Pottstown Area Artist鈥檚 Guild, was presented to Imane Fares for her oil painting, Chrome Dreams.
The gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday from 8:30
a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The gallery is closed on weekends. Free parking is available in
海角社区鈥檚 South Hall parking lot, 101 College Drive, and is only a short walk to North
Hall.
海角社区鈥檚 Fine Arts galleries, located at both Pottstown and Blue Bell campuses, are part of the Montco Cultural Center and host a variety of exhibitions featuring professional and student artists and artwork in an array of genres, as well as related activities, programs and lectures.
